Defined by Defeat: The Real Champion’s Story
Life rarely goes according to script, and our success is often defined by our defeats.
As a freshman at Rutgers University, Lauren unexpectedly lost both of her parents within hours of each other to their concealed battle with prescription drug addiction. In the aftermath, she was forced to navigate the world unknown and make some tough choices that are bound to every chapter of her story.
Whether you are a team leader, a company owner, or taking the next step in your career, you can use the power of your story to rebound from tragedy with courage and resilience.
Success by Design
Krista will discuss her experiences and using mentoring, networking, and other tools to get where you want to be in your career.
Women Bank Directors: Board Service in the New Millennium
In this session hear from Directors at Five Star Bank, Leigh White, Shannon Deary-Bell, and Donna Lucas as Maurine Padden moderates this panel.
Legislative Update
Hear from Melanie Cuevas, VP of Government Relations of the California Bankers Association, as she provides the latest Legislative Update.
Body Language of Leaders: Follow the Leader
Your leadership is only as strong as your followers’ willingness to embrace it.
And that in turn depends on assuring them you’re the best person for the job, with the right qualities to take them to the right places.
Leading takes ambition and vision. But it also requires learning to use your nonverbal communication to reinforce your image and message. To be the most effective leader possible, you need to look, sound, and act the part.
Pay It Forward Initiative
Each year at our Women in Banking Forum, we like to highlight a local non-profit that helps serve the local community where we hold the program.
We have worked with many non-profits over the years and have brought in many donations to help serve the local community. Such organizations like: Clothes the Deal, New Economics for Women, Headbands of Hope, and many more.
This year, we are partnering with and highlighting Project Hope Alliance.
Project Hope Alliance (PHA) is a nonprofit that is ending the cycle of homelessness, one child at a time. A homeless student who graduates high school is 400 times less likely to experience homelessness as an adult. Based in Orange County, CA, Project Hope Alliance works directly with students experiencing homelessness, ensuring that students graduate high school, and end the cycle of homelessness. They work with students from Kindergarten, through age 24. They provide 24/7 case management support, along with basic needs, academic tutoring, mentorship, financial assistance, and enrichment activities. What is unique about Project Hope Alliance is that their case managers work directly on school campuses that have high student populations of homeless youth. Students always have access to their Case Managers and the support they provide. Learn more about Project Hope Alliance at projecthopealliance.org.
