William E. (Bill) Jones is a Senior Vice President and Chief Appraiser of Citizens Business Bank (CBB) in Ontario, California and has been with the Bank since 2014. His primary responsibility is CRE risk collateral valuation management and as such is responsible for the entire real estate valuation process and ensuring real estate appraisal regulatory compliance.
Prior to CBB, he was Chief Appraiser at a Far East Bank primarily serving the Chinatown area of Downtown Los Angeles. He has been involved in commercial real estate in either valuation or lending for over 30 years.
Bill began his professional career at the former Coldwell Banker (which is now known as CBRE) in Downtown Los Angeles, when he was accepted in to the Commercial Group Training Program. After working in brokerage, property management, institutional investment, and finance Bill started work as an appraisal trainee, assisting senior appraisers in the valuation of a wide range of commercial properties. After working for Coldwell Banker for several years Bill worked for several financial institutions, and did some work in the lending area at GMAC Commercial Mortgage (GMACCM).
In addition to earning the MAI Designation Bill has the AI-GRS designation, which is a designation held by professionals who provide reviews of appraisals of a wide range of property types, including commercial, industrial, multi-family residential, vacant land, and other property types.
Bill is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College, where he majored in International Management. He has spent much of his life in Southern California, though he was actually born in Argentina, where he spent his early childhood. He is fluent in Spanish. He spends his spare time with his family, which often involves searching for Lego pieces with his son.
