Peter Buck is a managing director in the financial services group at Piper Sandler.

Previously, he was a managing director in the investment banking group of Sandler O’Neill & Partners, L.P. where he provided merger and acquisition, capital raising and overall strategic planning advice for financial institutions nationwide.

While with Sandler O’Neill, Buck helped clients structure over 50 M&A transactions and was involved in numerous capital raising transactions. Recent representative M&A transactions include Banner Corporation’s $702 million acquisition of Starbuck Bancshares, Inc., CU Bancorp’s $104 million acquisition of 1st Enterprise Bank and Sterling Financial Corporation’s $2.0 billion sale to Umpqua Holdings Corporation.

Buck graduated with distinction from the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
