Regional Director, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation
Kathy Moe serves as the Regional Director for the San Francisco Region of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), where she is responsible for the supervision and oversight of financial institutions in 11 Western States, plus the territory of Guam and the Federated States of Micronesia. She has fulfilled the role of Regional Director since March 2016. She previously served as the Deputy Regional Director for Risk Management Supervision since June 2012. Prior to this, she was the Field Supervisor for the Phoenix Field Territory for 16 years.
Kathy is a 32-year veteran with the FDIC where she has led several special projects including developing the “Lessons Learned from the Crisis” training curriculum. The San Francisco Region supervises some of the largest and most complex financial institutions in the country. Ms. Moe has developed strategies to lead the Region including a Large Bank Forum and Financial Technology Working Group. She has also worked to strengthen and preserve Minority Depository Institutions. In 2017, Kathy was involved in the development of a Handbook for De Novo Bank Organizers, along with internal procedures.
Kathy serves on the Board of Directors of the Pacific Bankers Management Institute. She is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Colorado. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Nebraska, and a certificate in Leadership and Management from the University of California at Berkeley.
