Joshua Preston
Innovation Officer, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency


Joshua Preston is an Innovation Officer and commissioned National Bank Examiner at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). In this role, he implements the OCC’s responsible innovation framework, which includes outreach and technical assistance for banks, fintechs, and other organizations; training and awareness for OCC staff; and coordinating and facilitating the OCC’s response to new products, services, and technologies. Prior to this role, Joshua was an examiner on community, midsize, and large bank supervisory teams and a supervisory analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Before his career in banking supervision, Joshua worked for a semiconductor equipment supplier in Dresden, Germany.

Joshua holds an MBA from the Leipzig Graduate School of Management, attained while he was a Fulbright Graduate Fellow to Germany. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Idaho, and he is a Certified Fraud Examiner.
