Congresswoman Maxine Waters is considered by many to be one of the most powerful women in American politics. She has gained a reputation as a fearless and outspoken advocate for women, children, people of color and the poor. Elected to her 15th term in the U.S. House of Representatives, Congresswoman Waters recently made history as the first woman and the first African American to chair the House Financial Services Committee, and she recently created the Subcommittee on Diversity and Inclusion — the first of its kind in Congress.
