And Carey loves to collaborate on the company-building process (as he has had every job in a company).

As the Founder and President of Operate, Ransom and his team look for entrepreneurs with grit who are building innovative companies. In all of their portfolio companies, they invest their own capital and their own team’s capabilities as hands-on senior executives to build amazing companies together. This unique approach delivers more predictable investment returns and creates more winners for their investment partners.

Operate is a venture studio that invests capital & a world-class team into product-centric entrepreneurs building data-centric software companies. They’re designed to maximize each company’s launch velocity & success, which lead to better companies & investment returns for everyone involved. They’ve partnered with over 20 amazing founders since they started 2 years ago.

Carey is the Managing Director of BankTech Ventures. BankTech Ventures is the first venture fund created for and by key leaders in community banking, bank technology and fintech. With full support and endorsement by the ICBA (Independent Community Bankers of America) and The Venture Center, Finovate’s 2020 Accelerator of the Year, the fund serves the community banking ecosystem through strategic investments, education and collaboration with its limited partners.

Collaborative and high-performance organization building along with his natural gifts of leadership, mentorship and counseling make him a natural leader. He’s an entrepeneur with a passion for sharing and discussing ideas while learning and teaching along the way.

Carey is a husband and a father who loves to act like a kid because he’s truly a kid at heart. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family and travelling. You’ll often find Carey on the sidelines of one of his children’s sporting games cheering them on.
