COVID Relief Programs: When and How Will Banks’ Obligations End?

Sessions

In commercial and consumer lending and commercial residential mortgage lending, Federal, GSE and state COVID-related forbearance requirements and eviction/foreclosure moratoria have been repeatedly extended. Explore how these programs and restrictions have evolved as the COVID crisis evolves, and what the likely issues are as the programs end (such as when forbearance plans end), including what obligations banks will have to borrowers who still are not in sound economic positions. Also explore whether and how any of these restrictions are likely to become permanent in whole or in part.
