James M. Ford (Jim) is a seasoned bank leader with more than 40 years of financial industry experience. He joined Central Valley Community Bank (CVCB) on February 1, 2014 as its third president since the Bank’s founding in 1979. 

Headquartered in Fresno, California, Central Valley Community Bank has experienced great financial success as one of the safest and fastest growing community banks in California’s San Joaquin Valley and Greater Sacramento region. CVCB has grown to 20 full-service banking centers, plus its corporate office, spanning 16 communities and employing 270 professional bankers whose core values exemplify the best qualities in a community business bank.

Since Ford joined CVCB in 2014, his accomplishments have included restructuring operations; expanding and building a strong management team; elevating the Bank’s corporate culture; and growing the Greater Sacramento footprint with the acquisitions of Sierra Vista Bank in 2016 and Folsom Lake Bank in 2017. He has expanded Central Valley Investment Services and has helped the Bank experience over 30 percent growth by exceeding $1.6 billion in assets as of March 31, 2020.   

Ford’s longtime banking career has kept him actively involved in community organizations and civic partnerships where he has shared his extensive financial and management experience for the betterment of the regions that he has been privileged to live and work. Currently he serves as the Past Chair for the State Government Relations Committee and the Chair of the Membership Committee for the Western Bankers Association. Ford also serves on the American Bankers Association Community Bank Council for the State of California. In addition, he provides service to the Business Advisory Council for the Craig School of Business at California State University, Fresno, and is an active Rotarian in the Fresno Rotary Club. 

Prior to joining CVCB, Ford served as the President and CEO of PremierWest Bancorp and its subsidiary PremierWest Banking in Medford, Oregon. Ford’s banking career also included leadership positions with Bank of the West in Walnut Creek, California, where he worked as Executive Vice President of Planning and Development with the Regional Banking Group; Union Safe Deposit Bank in Stockton, California where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer; and Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati, Ohio. He began his career in 1980 with First Interstate Bank in Beaverton, Oregon.
