Jeffrey J. Wishner joined KBW in 2002 and advises West Coast banks, thrifts and financial institutions on M&A and capital raising transactions. Previously, Jeff worked at Putnam Lovell Securites and Banc of America Securities (formerly Montgomery Securities) with the same industry focus. Jeff has over 25 years of experience and he has been involved in over 110 M&A transactions with over $22B in transaction value and over 95 capital raising transactions with over $11B raised. Jeff often speaks at banking conferences on topics surrounding M&A and capital markets. Jeff received an MBA from Harvard University and a BS in Finance from UC Berkeley.
Patricia McJoynt joined KBW in 1990 and covers community banks, including mutual institutions and credit unions. Pat advises clients on M&A and capital raises, including mutual to stock conversions, follow-on offerings, subordinated debt, preferred stock and other financial instruments. Pat also works with clients on general strategic matters. Previously, she was a Senior Vice President at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle, where she regulated all the failing (insolvent) thrifts in the 12 th District.
Aaron J. Axton joined KBW in 2000 and is a Managing Director in the Depositories Investment Banking Department, serving banks in North America and Europe. Aaron has been providing strategic advice to West Coast banks, thrifts and financial institutions for over 20 years.
Aaron is based in the San Francisco office, and specializes in M&A and capital solutions for the financial services industry, having recently advised on several of the largest transactions on the West Coast. Aaron also has significant expertise in strategic advisory work relating to activism defense and restructuring. Aaron is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.
Joseph N. Gulash joined KBW in 2011 and is responsible for advising on M&A and capital markets transactions for community and regional banks across the U.S. Joe is a frequent speaker on industry topics for boards of directors, banking events, and conferences. Prior to joining KBW he was in similar roles at two other investment banks focusing on financial institutions. Earlier in his career, he provided management and strategic consulting services to financial services companies at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Joe is a graduate of the University of Arizona.
Ashwin Kakani is a Director in KBW’s Depository Investment Banking Group and is based in the firm’s San Francisco office. Ashwin has been with KBW since February 2015 and has significant responsibilities related to executing mergers and acquisitions advisory and capital raising transactions.
Prior to joining KBW, from July 2012 through January 2015, Ashwin was a Director of M&A and Corporate Development at AmericanWest Bank, a private equity backed bank (lead investors included Goldman Sachs, FF&L and Oaktree).
Stephen Gunlock is a Vice President in KBW’s Depository Investment Banking Group and is based in the firm’s San Francisco office. He has been with KBW since 2011, first in St. Louis and later in Austin, Texas, before settling on the west coast. Stephen has experience working with financial services clients across a range of geographies and product types. He received a BS in Finance from Indiana University, Bloomington.
