Mariele focuses on expanding the reach and impact of successful product, service, and public policy innovations. Prior to joining Commonwealth, Mariele worked as a counselor at Philadelphia’s Financial Empowerment Centers, where she provided free one-on-one financial coaching and advocacy to low- and moderate-income consumers. Previously she served as an AmeriCorps VISTA member, coordinating a volunteer program for adult learners at the Mayor’s Commission on Literacy in Philadelphia. Mariele earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors in International Development Studies and Urban Geography from McGill University.
