The Currency of Governance

With regulators expecting more oversight from board members in areas such as strategic planning, risk mitigation, and company culture, it is increasingly essential for both seasoned and new directors to remain ahead of the curve in a rapidly evolving and complex industry. From corporate governance to value drivers, WBA’s 2019 Directors Conference is designed to address the internal and external factors which impact organizational strength through peer connections and by offering sessions led by industry experts and thought leaders.

The Directors Conference serves to approach the directors’ role holistically, identifying the full responsibilities of this important role by offering real strategies to get and keep banks on track for success. Like all WBA programs, the always popular peer exchange sessions allow attendees to ask questions and discuss hot topics with fellow executives and directors from across the Western United States.

The Directors Conference welcomes CEOs, presidents, senior officers, and bank directors to a comprehensive three-day event created to identify and explore issues important to shareholders and depositors alike. Winning Through Change: How to See Change as an Opportunity

Constant change is here to stay, and depending on how we view it, it can be overwhelming or an opportunity. The Evolution of the Branch in Today’s Digital World

No one can say with absolute certainty what banking will look like in the future. But trends in technology and consumer behavior make it clear that bank branches must evolve if they are to remain a profitable channel for customer engagement and revenue generation. This session will explore the shifting role of the branch and outline a data-based methodology for determining the speed and scope of branch evolution. The position of the branch in an overall delivery strategy must change, but the scope and pace of that change should be guided by local data points.
